Frank lived in Istria for most of his time in Croatia. And he finds Istria beautiful. No matter how many times he might visit Rovinj, or Groznjan, or Motovun… anytime he goes back, he discovers something new. During the winter, Frank gets in the car, direction anywhere, enjoying the beautiful Istrian scenery. In the springtime, Frank explores Istria on his bicycle. The best way to explore Istria. Here are some Istria photos, Frank took along the way.

Hi Frank, I wanted to tell you how excited I was to see the houses that belonged to my grandmother, Gasperina Favretto on your website. At Punta Salvore ( now Savudrija ) she owned the three houses separated by the current Ristoran Adria. My Great-grandfather, Celestino and my grandfather Ruggero are buried at the little cemetery across the road . THey, along with my parents and uncle were all married in that little church ( La Chiesa Parochiale di Salvore ) I visited in 2014 and it was a moving experience to see my father’s boyhood home and the little bay whose waves lapped against the back of his house. My dad, Guerrino Favretto, just passed away in October at 104 . His dad was Ruggero . If you have more photos of that site , I would love to see them. THanks, Julian Favretto

Fab photos. Will enjoy looking at some of your blogs between now and the Summer to get myself in the mood.
